Heat pumps

Heat pump installation in Brussels and Brabant

Heat your home using up to 3 to 4 times less energy than electric radiators — and enjoy cool air in summer.

Low-cost heating

Why switch to a heat pump?

A heat pump captures heat from the outside air, even in winter, and releases it inside your home. For every kWh of electricity it uses, it produces several kWh of heat — one of the most economical and sustainable ways to heat a home today.

At AMAXIA Energy we assess your home (floor area, insulation, heat emitters) to recommend the solution that really fits: an air-to-air heat pump to heat and cool room by room, or an air-to-water heat pump to replace your boiler.

Air-to-air or air-to-water?

Air-to-air heat pump

Also called reversible air conditioning. It heats and cools the air in your rooms through wall units, consoles or ducted systems. Quick to install, ideal to complement or replace electric radiators.

Air-to-water heat pump

It supplies your radiators or underfloor heating and can produce domestic hot water. The solution to replace an oil or gas boiler.

Hybrid system

In some homes, a heat pump can work alongside the existing boiler, which only takes over in very cold weather.

The benefits of a heat pump

  • Much lower heating bills than direct electric heating
  • Warm in winter, cool in summer with an air-to-air heat pump
  • Lower CO₂ emissions than a fossil-fuel boiler
  • Control from your smartphone and room-by-room scheduling
  • Adds value to your property and its energy performance certificate (EPC/PEB)

What is the difference between an air-to-air and an air-to-water heat pump?

An air-to-air heat pump heats (and cools) the air in your rooms through indoor units: it is reversible air conditioning. An air-to-water heat pump heats the water in your heating circuit (radiators, underfloor heating) and often your hot water: it replaces a boiler.

Does a heat pump work when it freezes?

Yes. Modern heat pumps keep producing heat in freezing weather. Their efficiency drops in very cold conditions, which is why correct sizing of your installation is essential.

Are there grants for heat pumps in Belgium?

Regional grants may be available depending on your region (Brussels, Flanders or Wallonia), the type of heat pump and your situation. Conditions change regularly, so during the visit we tell you which support your project may qualify for.

How much can I save with a heat pump?

A heat pump produces several kWh of heat for every kWh of electricity. Compared with electric radiators, heating consumption can be 3 to 4 times lower depending on the unit and the home.
